About Us
The Miami Film Society was created by and for Miami film enthusiasts with the idea of sharing the unique experience of cinema not just among themselves but with all of Miami and the Beaches. Nearly 30 years later, this remains its purpose. As the host of the Miami International Film Festival, the Miami Film Society is responsible for maintaining and enriching film culture throughout the region and internationally.
It is the Miami Film Society that sustains and builds the Festival and special events, programs and screenings throughout the year. Its members are from every walk of life with perspectives and tastes as wide and varied as the community in which they live. They share a passion for film and a desire to be part of the cultural renaissance happening here. Membership levels are designed to appeal to everyone who loves film, regardless of income.
All members receive special benefits not available to the public, including tickets to the Festival, invitations to exclusive Miami Film Society events and screenings and special discounts.
