The Miami International Film Festival is pleased to offer its 2010-2011 Internship Programs - a platform for students to gain insight, experience, knowledge and skills in the operation of a cultural destination event.
About the Miami International Film Festival
The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) is the gateway for international and Ibero-American film. Celebrating its 28th year in 2011, MIFF plays a leading role in maintaining and further enriching film culture in South Florida. Miami’s unique geographical and cultural position has made MIFF a premiere venue for showcasing film and fostering film business throughout the year. Awards are given in four Grand Jury competition categories, Florida Focus, Audience and Online.

The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) is the platform for film in Miami. Internships at MIFF offer students with an opportunity to gain experience in several different components of the Festival.
Internships are offered in: • Programming & Filmmaker Services • Hospitality and Special Events • Volunteer Management • REEL Seminars • Film Industry Office • Business Affairs • Marketing and Outreach • Press Operations • Membership • Corporate Relations and Development
All internships require a strong degree of responsibility and are supervised to facilitate learning and experience.
Internships are designed to provide a broad understanding of various work settings work styles. Internships are unpaid but can be used toward credit requirements.

MIFF internships are temporary assignments that last approximately 12-16 weeks during a specific year (one semester). Internships occurring during a given academic year typically require a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. However, the hours and length of the internship can be adjusted depending on the needs of the department and the availability of the student.
2010-2011 Internship terms are as follows:
SUMMER: Dates Flexible FALL SEMESTER: September 1, 2010 – December 1, 2010 SPRING SEMESTER: January 10, 2011 – April 5, 2011
Interns are required to complete an application form and submit a resume. At the end of the term, interns are asked to complete an internship program evaluation form. Additionally, the intern’s manager will complete an appraisal form. Any and all institutional paperwork will be completed to ensure credit requirements are met, if applicable.
All internships will take place at the Miami International Film Festival offices, located on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College in the New World School of the Arts building, 25 N.E. Second Avenue, Rooms 5501-5518.

• Check that you fulfill the requirements for a MIFF Internship • 12-16 week commitment (start and end dates above) • Minimum 15 hours per week
Choose your top 3 choices for your internship (e.g. Membership, REEL Seminars, Marketing)
Submit Resume, Cover Letter and References, as well your department choices to Internships at info@miamifilmfestival.com.
