a film by Noah Baumbach
Written by Noah Baumbach & Greta Gerwig
Cast: Greta Gerwig, Mickey Sumner (Sting’s daughter), Adam Driver
USA | 86 min. | comedy | trailer
Frances (Greta Gerwig) shares an apartment in New York with her best friend Sophie (Mickey Sumner). Frances spends her time working at a dance company where she finds little to no success. News that Sophie has found a new and better place to live sends Frances' life spinning out of control. Soon, she will have to choose between growing up or continuing to chase her dancing dreams. Noah Baumbach (an Oscar nominee for The Squid and the Whale) takes a minimalistic look at the hardships of growing up for a generation that simply can't find their footing in today's world. The results are both gripping and emotional, in what will be one of the most unique American independent films of the year. The film was written by Gerwig and Baumbach, their second collaboration after Greenberg. - Andres Castillo
