Paris-based street artist known as INVADER will appear in Miami for the World Premiere of his short documentary “Art4Space” at the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach.  The art world and beyond first noticed this incognito artist via Banksy’s subversive Oscar®-nominated documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop.

In the 45-minute film, Invader starts by documenting his first "invasion" of Miami, where he plasters mosaics depicting characters taken from the 8-bit, late-70s era video game, "Space Invaders." His narration is filled with humorous observations about Miami, as he seeks out the right buildings and structures to epoxy his creations.  The film then highlights the launch of one of Invader’s iconic mosaics titled “Space One” from the Everglades, on a heavenly journey into space using a high-tech weather balloon and camera that captures a set of photographic images of the artist’s signature character floating above the planet.

Co-presented by Miami International Film Festival and the Jonathan Levine Gallery, who represents Invader in New York City.    MIFF's executive director Jaie Laplante will introduce the world premiere of the artist’s documentary Art4Space which will be followed by a Q&A with Invader (who likely have his face obscured in order to and maintain his anonymity).
