  • MIFF will honor award-winning Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier tonight with a special Career Achievement Tribute at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts. The red carpet event will commence at 6:30 p.m. followed by a special tribute and screening of IN A BETTER WORLD (HÆVEN), the 2011 Golden Globe and Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film, at 7 p.m.

  • (818), directed by Robert Lee King, is set for its world premiere at Regal South Beach at 9:15 p.m.   Alyssa Rampart-Pillage (Beth Broderick), the former queen of Wednesday night television, now full-time trophy wife of the Appliance King of the San Fernando Valley (area code 818), attempts to get away with murder to maintain her grip on her husband’s financial empire. Robert Lee King, director of cult classic PSYCHO BEACH PARTY, delivers a skewer to the heart of America’s celebrity obsession.
