YOUNG GOETHE IN LOVE, directed by Philipp Stölzl, will screen at The Gusman Center for the Performing Arts at 7:00 p.m. Alexander Fehling (Inglourious Basterds) is flawless in this engaging, historical drama that chronicles the early years of Germany’s most famous literary genius, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Before writing The Sorrows of Young Werther, the book that launched a thousand broken-hearted suicides, Goethe lived its story of star-crossed love and loss. Alexander Fehling will be present for intro and Q&A.

IF A TREE FALLS: A STORY ABOUT THE EARTH LIBERATION FRONT, directed by Marshall Curry (Oscar-nominated Street Fight), will screen at the Regal South Beach at 10:00 p.m. The Earth Liberation Front (ELF) emerged in the 1990s as a secret collective of individuals dedicated to sabotaging companies they blamed for environmental destruction. After perpetrating arson and pervasive property damage, the ELF was targeted by the U.S. government for domestic terrorism. Director will be present for intro and Q&A.

THE INTERRUPTERS will screen at Tower Theater at 7:00p. Hoop Dreams director Steve James delivers another staggering, nonfiction epic set on the streets of Chicago, following an organization called CeaseFire, a collective of former gang members trying to break the cycle of urban violence. Instead of being reactive, “The Interrupters” try to intervene before conflicts turn deadly. Director will be present for intro and Q&A.
